Intro
The hip joint is one of the most important joints in the human body. It allows us to walk, run, and jump. It bears our upper body’s weight when sitting, standing, and transferring weight while standing and walking and it can withstand the force of the strong muscles of the hip and leg, allowing movement andmaintaining posture.
The hip joint is strong and rigid, and at the same time also among the most flexible in our body. The range of motion allowed in the hip joint is second only to that of the shoulder.
The hip joint is surrounded by many tough ligaments, together with the strong muscles in the hip region theykeep the hip joint together and prevent the dislocation of the joint.
The skeleton of the pelvic is a basin-shaped ring of bones connecting the vertebral column to the femur (or thigh bone). The pelvic is an anchor and attachment area for many muscles. Another important function of the area is to contain and protect the pelvic and the abdominopelvic viscera—the organs within the abdominal cavity, which include the urinary tracts, intestines, internal reproductive organs.
