Frozen shoulder is a condition characterized by stiffness and pain in the shoulder joint. It is not a repetitive strain injury. In fact, it is most likely the opposite of an overuse injury, frequently brought on by a period of shoulder immobilization, or from time spent in a sling after a fracture or stroke. Frozen shoulder may also occur after a trauma to the area, even when there is no prominent immobilization.
